Mother Earth

Mother earth is a third person ( free camera ) game with RTS elements. Players' goal is to control the mother earth to grow plants by casting spells in order to fight with the evil sprits / disasters, and take back the corroded lands. 

                           Please, save the world !

Overview

I was involved in a lot of works of this project, also being participated in and gave opinions on nearly every part. But all in all, my main work still focus on character animations and music.

Contributions

Background Music

I composed two background music for the entire game: one was a sacred BGM for non-combat scenes, and the other was an electronic-style BGM for combat scenes (though the combat BGM was ultimately not included in the game due to stylistic reasons).

The sacred BGM utilized various string instruments and a female vocal to highlight our game's main character — the Earth Mother.

The originally planned combat BGM was purely electronic, with a very intense melody.

STONE HENGE

The resurrection point of the Forest Spirit, appears to be broken because it has been corroded.

A place where the deer will be spawned 

SKY SPHERE

Because our game location is on a planet in space, in order to highlight the vastness of the universe, I designed a huge round sky sphere to add to the feeling.

SELECTION CIRCLE

Simply selecting the character is a bit blurry, so I made a glowing ring around the character, just like in MOBA games to clearly highlight the player's selected target.

Animations

All of the animation blueprints and half of the character's animation ( Dragon, WOLF, Mother Earth ), Including Idle and attack, and walking. 

EARTH MOTHER

The protagonist has three different animations:


Idle: Standing still


Walking: Swinging arms with small steps


Attacking: Throw a magic that can grow trees on to the ground

WOLF 

The wolf has two different animations:


Walking: Running 


Attacking: Rise claws 

DRAGON

The dragon has two different animations:


Idle:  Breathing with a big move


Attacking: Rise up the head and spray a fire ball out  

DEER ( BLUEPRINTS )

The deer has two different animations:


Walking:  Basic running


Attacking: Swing the head and use horns to butt enemies  

GORILLA ( BLUEPRINTS )

The Gorilla has two different animations:


Walking:  Basic running 


Attacking: Rise up the fists and smash the player
